Fit & Fabulous 50+

This project is funded by #One Slough through Slough Council for Voluntary Services and aims to improve the health and wellbeing of older adults in Slough—particularly those aged 50+ who are at risk of isolation, poor physical or mental health, or disengagement from community life.

Through a 12-month programme of weekly wellbeing and physical activity sessions, we will reach over 300 older people across Slough. Activities include Yoga, Zumba, Gentle Stretching, and Bhangra, as well as monthly community forums and cultural events.

The project is delivered in trusted, accessible community venues such as Singh Sabha Sports Centre, Holy Family Church, and Langley Pavilion Hall, led by our experienced multilingual tutors who specialise in working with older adults.

Alongside the sessions, we are recruiting and training 10 community volunteers to provide support, translation, and peer encouragement—helping make sessions inclusive for everyone.

The aim is to reduce loneliness, improve physical and emotional wellbeing, and build community connections among Slough’s older residents. By bringing people together in a fun, welcoming environment, the programme promotes healthy ageing, independence, and a sense of belonging.
